Cancelling a Review

There may be circumstances in which a review cannot proceed (e.g. a reviewer is unable to complete the assigned review). Instead of deleting the review which removes the record entirely from the database, cancel the review. Cancelled reviews remain in the database and can be used in reporting.

Prerequisites: You must have the 'View File' and 'Edit File' functions enabled for your role.

To cancel a review:

  1. Open the file and go to the Review/Analysis tab.
  2. In the left panel, select the review to be cancelled.
  3. Click Cancel. A confirmation message is displayed. Click Yes to continue. The status is updated to "Cancelled".

The notification is sent to the reviewer and any other individual included in the original review request notification and the review status is changed to: Cancelled. No further action is required by the reviewer.

Note: Reviews that have been completed and submitted cannot be cancelled.
